COVID-19 update

Dear Friends of Habitat for Humanity Anderson,

We are incredibly grateful for your generous financial and volunteer support.  Without your involvement and investment, Habitat could not do its important work of building homes that families can afford to live in here in our community.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we have done our best to make decisions to keep our staff and community healthy while still moving our mission work forward.

On May 12, the ReStore began regular hours. We have installed a shield between customers and the ReStore cashier, and masks are required. Donation drop offs and pick ups are being accepted and are greatly needed as the ReStore inventory has been greatly reduced.

Volunteer construction activity also is underway. The site is currently limited to a maximum of 15 people total onsite (staff, volunteers and future homeowners). Please read our volunteer COVID-19 guidelines here.

The need for affordable homeownership continues to increase during this uncertain time, and your continued support is crucial. Even though volunteer opportunities are limited, here are some other ways you can join us:

  • Give. We are about to approve more future homeowners into our program! The gifts you make during this time will allow us get property ready and, when it is safe, quickly ramp up construction to get more families into safe, decent, affordable homes. Ways to donate

  • Pray. Please pray for our mission, our community and the health and safety of our Habitat family.

  • Donate your car. Your old vehicle can change lives! Learn how

  • Keep celebrating the positive! We are doing as much work as we can to prepare for when we can gather together again. Lots are being cleared, new homeowners are being approved. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for all the latest news, or sign up for our newsletter.

We also will post additional updates on our website as conditions change.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to raising the walls of our next home soon!

In partnership,

Angela Wilson, executive director
