ReStore FAQs

What is a Habitat ReStore?

A Habitat ReStore accepts new and used furniture, home décor, building materials, appliances and more from individuals, retailers, businesses and contractors. These good-quality items are sold to the general public at a fraction of retail prices, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

Is The ReStore open to the public?

YES! Anyone and everyone can donate and shop at the ReStore!

How often does the ReStore get new materials?

Daily! We receive donations every day we are open.

How are items priced at the ReStore?

Brand new items are priced approximately 50% OFF of retail value; other items, depending on condition, are priced between 50% to 90% off retail value.

Can we negotiate prices with the ReStore?

No. Our ReStore does not negotiate prices with customers. We have a color coded mark down system in place as well as other great opportunities for discounts such as senior and military discounts, flash sales, and Habi Hour every Friday from 3-4 pm.

Do you use the donated materials to build Habitat Homes?

No. Materials donated to the ReStore are sold in the ReStore. The proceeds are used to purchase brand new materials for each Habitat home.

How do I donate?

Please call us at 864-375-1177 and let us know what you would like to donate. We can schedule a free pick up for larger donations such as furniture and appliances. Smaller items such as boxes of home décor or single items can be brought to the ReStore during normal hours of operation. For more information about donating to the ReStore, please click here.

Do you pick up items?

Yes. We pick up donations Tuesday thru Saturday. Please call 864-375-1177 or click here to schedule a free pickup. The donation pick-up truck is reserved for larger donations such as furniture and appliances.

Do I get a tax receipt for donating?

Yes! The Habitat ReStore is part of Habitat for Humanity International and a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Donors may receive an electronic donation receipt if they choose.

Will the ReStore put a value on the items I donate?

Unfortunately, IRS regulations prohibit us from appraising any donations. This is the responsibility of the donor. We recommend documenting and taking pictures of all donations for your own records.

Does the ReStore do refunds?

Refunds will only be given on non-working electronics and appliances within seven days of purchase. Merchandise will be re-tested before a refund is given.  Refunds will not be given without the original sales receipt.

Are all ReStores the same?

No. Each ReStore is individually operated by the Habitat for Humanity affiliate office in that area. Merchandise, prices, policies, promotions, store hours, etc., may vary by location.

How do things get done at the ReStore ?

Volunteers play a vital role in donation intake, stocking shelves, assisting customers, loading and unloading vehicles for customers, cleaning and more! We simply could not survive without the dedication and commitment of our wonderful volunteers. For more information about volunteering at the ReStore, please click here.
